Make a birthday countdown

  1. Choose Customize this countdown and set the birthday, or the party’s start time.
  2. Add a title like “Maya turns 7!” and an end message such as “Happy birthday, Maya!”.
  3. Pick confetti or fireworks for the moment it reaches zero, and optionally the balloon background.
  4. Set it to repeat yearly, so the same link counts down to next year’s birthday afterwards.

Show how close it is

Turn on the progress bar and set the start to the last birthday. The bar then fills up over the year, which kids especially love: it’s easy to see how close the big day is, even before they can read the numbers.

Ideas

  • Kids’ birthdays: open the countdown full screen on a tablet or TV in the run-up to the party.
  • Milestone birthdays: a 30th, 40th or 50th countdown to share with everyone coming to the party.
  • Surprise parties: a countdown for the guests to the moment the guest of honor arrives.
  • Friends far away: set the time zone to theirs and count down to their midnight.

Frequently asked questions

Can the birthday countdown repeat every year?

Yes. Set it to repeat yearly in the builder. When the birthday arrives it celebrates, then starts counting to the next one.

Can I count down to the party instead of midnight?

Yes. Set the date and time the party starts. Your countdown gets its own link to share.

Is it free?

Yes. count.live is free, needs no account, and the countdowns you share or embed never show ads.
